 I talk to the rowing today.

 The history of the rowing dates back to the ancient times when I consider it as means of traffic and the war. It’s the 18th century – about the 19th centuries that rowing became the present style. It’s said that it began in U.K. and North Europe nearly 200 years ago. The record that the modern race using the gondola was held in Italy in the 14th century is left. It became popular around Europe. It without a rule decided in particular, the form of the race varied in those days.

Next, I talk to the Japanese rowing.

 In the sports of Japan, the rowing is old next to baseball. It was called the sports of the gentleman, and there was the place that knew old samurai mind to destroy a self in Japan a bit and was got close to many people. There is not the correct record, it’s said that it’s the Dutchman who lived in Nagasaki to have rowed a boat first in Japan. The first Soukei regatta was held in the Sumida River of Tokyo in 1905, and the rowing spread afterwards in the whole country led by a university. Rowing club was established in a high school and the junior high school in 1887. The Soukei regatta greeted 82 times, the 108th year in 2013 while sandwiching the interruption such as the war. The Soukei regatta produced a lot of nice games in the past long history. The nice game of the 26th meeting was placed in the textbook of the morality.

 It was such a rowing of Japan, but was not able to readily a good grade in world grade. However, Japan won the first gold medal by the world championships of 2000. And the representative from Japan went into the finals in 2 meeting by the Sydney Olympics of the same year and the Athens Olympics of 2004. In this way, Japan acquires power steadily.

 The rowing is said to be a minor sport, but is splendid sport with the old history!
